Dream Bars

1/3 c. butter softened
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. plus 2 T flour
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Frosting:
4 T Butter softened
2 c. powered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 t. orange peel
2 T orange juice

Beat butter and 1/2. c. sugar until creamy. With a fork, blend in 1 c. of the flour until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press mixture firmly over bottom of a greased 9x13 pan, forming an even layer. Bake for 375 for 10 minutes and let cool. Beat eggs until light and lemon-colored then gradually beat in remaining 1 c. sugar. Beat in vanilla, remaining 2 T flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir in coconut and nuts until thoroughly combined. Pour coconut mixture over baked crust. Bake for 20 min or until top is golden.

Beat 4 T butter softened and 2 c. powdered sugar until creamy. Add 1 t. vanilla and 1 t. orange peel. Beat in enough orange juice (about 2 T) to make a good spreading consistency. Cut bars and Spread frosting.
